What is Guru Purnima?
Guru Purnima is a deeply spiritual and culturally significant festival celebrated by Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains across India and Nepal. Observed on the full moon day (Purnima) in the Hindu month of Ashadha (June–July), this day is dedicated to expressing gratitude to our gurus — the individuals who guide us in our personal, academic, and spiritual journeys.
The word “Guru” is derived from Sanskrit:
